Your North East Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 41)

Plan your big day with our expert advice HOT TOPIC THE FOOD OF LOVE We’re looking for sweet treats at our wedding, what would you suggest? Wayne says: We suggest one of our freshly prepared Belgian waffles that are light and fluffy with assorted toppings. Our Big Brunch is perfect for adults and features bananas, strawberries and blueberries drizzled with maple syrup. For children, the Rockiest Road is a big hit with cream, marshmallows and chocolate syrup. Each treat is all served from our converted caravan in full view of customers to add to the experience. Our thick milkshakes are perfect for summer and the tea, coffee and hot chocolate is great for winter. What are the must-have shots and how can we get around this issue? Vicky says: Don’t fear the dark, embrace it! Using light creatively can result in some of the most dramatic, romantic and intimate shots of the day and it’s a great way to capture those last few frames. I’m almost always going to want to backlight the frame and my couple, this can be done with a sunset (although this can be unpredictable), the lighting within your venue or using a portable flash. I’d always recommend you visit the venue with your photographer before the big day to discuss your favourite spots, share images you have researched and get inspired. You’ll simply dance in the dark knowing your photographer has it covered on the special day. Colourful stones are also gaining popularity such as ethically sourced sapphires and tourmalines mixed in with diamonds. Emma Hedley | Emma Hedley Ltd | www.emmahedley.com 68
