67 EXPERT ADVICE LOVE IS IN THE HAIR How can I improve the condition of my hair for our wedding day? Grace says: To ensure you hair is in tip-tip condition for the big day, follow these simple steps… ❤ Avoid heat styling tools as much as possible in the run-up to your wedding. ❤ It’s important to go for regular trims to get rid of any dead ends. ❤ Use a hair mask once or twice a week to add nourishment. Take it a step further by using Olaplex treatments – it works wonders for your hair and the company’s products are cruelty-free and vegan friendly! It’s essential to check what’s required for the morning of the wedding with your hairstylist. This includes knowing if your locks need to be freshly washed or a day-old, the length required for the desired style and if extensions are needed. They will also recommend different treatments that are suitable for your hair type. How can I ensure it won’t budge throughout the day?  Leigh says:  To achieve budge-proof make-up, good technique and application are equally as important as using the right products. Apply and blend a layer of concealer all over the eye area and set with a neutral eyeshadow before applying defining contouring - stick to waterproof mascara and eyeliner and be sure to concentrate on blending! The area that’s most likely to be affected is the under-eye area. Apply light layers of concealer and foundation while blending as much as possible to create a seamless finish.  Add a light dusting of translucent setting powder along the under-eye area, going as close to the lower lashline as possible. Pat the powder onto the area to encourage the product to blend into the skin. Brushing eyeshadow along the lower lashline will also help set the area and prevent any movement – you could even use a neutral colour if you prefer less definition. If you do shed a tear, pat the tears away with a tissue and don’t rub! What advice do you have for this? Helen says: I’d recommend looking for a dress 10 to 12 months before the wedding date, this way the latest collections will be available to try. Depending on the amount of weight a bride wants to lose can affect the perception of her body image as well as self-confidence. Silhouettes and styles they haven’t considered trying before could be something they’re interested in after the weight loss. If a client is looking to lose a considerable amount, I’d advise them to look closer to the time available to achieve the goal. This may limit the selection available to them if they don’t allow enough time for delivery to the shop. As a boutique, we would order the size that originally fits to avoid adding any extra pressure. Ultimately the size ordered would be discussed and agreed with both parties.
