Your London Wedding - January/February 2021 (Issue 75)

ROUND TWO BAHAMAS TOURIST OFFICE Once travel restrictions are lifted, how can couples ensure their honeymoon will be safe? ❤ We’ve set strict safety protocols and have made sure they’re being followed. With 16 islands to choose from, social distancing is very easy! ❤ Hotels in The Bahamas offer rapid testing on arrival at the property to ensure a safe honeymoon. ❤ There are direct flights from London Heathrow – just one flight and you’re there. ❤ Consider helping to fund your adventure by asking for an alternative wedding gift. Bahamas specialist Bon Voyage can set up a Love Fund. Kimberley Greenslade | www.bahamas.com SONAL DAVE TOASTMASTER AND CELEBRANT What should couples consider before booking a celebrant or toastmaster? ❤ Firstly, make sure you have the opportunity to meet with them either in person or via video call, also check they have the necessary insurance and they work with a contract in place. ❤ Good celebrants and toastmasters are now booking for 2022 and 2023, so make sure you get in touch early! However, if you’re having a weekday event, they may still be able to fit you in during 2021. How can you help couples adapt their day during the pandemic? ❤ Consider having your event live-streamed for those who can’t attend. Your videographer can assist with this and also make a recording for you to treasure forever. ❤ When downsizing, always start with a must-attend list; this could be your parents, grandparents, siblings and partners. Then add in your immediate friends and those taking part in the ceremony, which will hopefully take you to your maximum number. Sonal Dave | www.sonaldave.com JENNIFER PATRICE – CELEBRANT What should couples consider before booking their celebrant? ❤ Start by doing some research – celebrants’ websites will normally have a little blurb describing what kind of celebrant they are. Check out websites and social media to shortlist who you’d like to have an initial meeting with. From these meetings, make your choice based on whether you have rapport with the celebrant and if you think they can bring your wedding vision to life. ❤ Decide on a budget and find out exactly what’s included in the fee. For example, how many meetings will you have, are travel expenses included and will you have a full rehearsal? How can you help couples adapt their day during the pandemic? ❤ If you choose to downsize your day, you may want a more intimate ceremony than previously planned, and your celebrant can help you adapt it. If your guest list has been reduced dramatically, for instance to 15 people, perhaps you’d like all of your guests to take part in the ceremony in some way? There are so many variations and the couple should discuss everything with their celebrant. It’s your day, and we want to make sure you’re happy. Jennifer Patrice | www.jenniferpatrice.com Dolphin Cay at Atlantis Paradise Island www.pop pycarterportraits.com KAANG PRODUCTIONS What should couples consider before booking their videographer? ❤ We always advise that you ask for two cameras, even if there’s only one videographer. Having one camera for close- ups and another for wide-angle shots makes a far better final edit. As a norm, we have two videographers and three cameras, one being a specialist bit of kit for smooth motion to capture the bridal entrance. How can you help couples adapt their day during the pandemic? ❤ We’ve started offering a block system for bookings – so you can book the ceremony, with the option to add on a block for wedding prep anda block for the reception etc. Depending on what government measures are in place, or what budget you have, you can still have your video produced.
