The newlyweds cut a heart shape in a bed sheet, one of us starting on the left and one on the right, and whoever reaches the top first has to carry the other through the heart-shaped hole. It was great fun! We had to re-size our wedding from 120 people to 30, then from 30 to 15. Telling the last 15 people that they couldn’t attend was the hardest part. There was so much uncertainty, but we tried to stay positive and worked out new ways to make our day possible. We didn’t know until two days before if some of our family from outside the UK would be able to make it. Our advice to couples in a similar situation is to stay optimistic and remain in constant contact with your suppliers and family. We got really lucky with our suppliers, who all made last-minute changes for us. It was important to us that our family was supportive of our decision to go ahead, as we wanted our small group to enjoy it to the fullest. Everything happens for a reason, and we couldn’t have asked for a better micro-wedding.
