Your London Wedding - January/February 2021 (Issue 75)

REAL WEDDINGS 43  I opted for a classic white dress. I found a top that I fell in love with and found the best tailor in the city to make it look exactly how I imagined it. I teamed it with jewellery from my grandma, a light blue jacket and dark blue accessories to match Waleed’s suit. Rather than handing a guest book around, we gave everyone two envelopes and asked them for a message for this year and one for our first anniversary. We stuck these in our guest book along with a Polaroid of everyone. Addison Lee was our life-saver over the weekend, as we didn’t want to risk public transport. One highlight was booking a white London wedding cab at short notice – it made the day even more special. My brother played piano during our ceremony, which was just beautiful. A live band wasn’t an option, but the boat tour through London and seeing the skyline both in the day and at night was spectacular. We prepared COVID packages that were placed on arrival in the hotel rooms. They contained a personalised face mask and hand sanitiser alongside a card and chocolates. Waleed definitely stood out in his perfectly fitted blue suit and matching tie. With all the last-minute changes to the guest list, he organised coordinating ties for all our family and friends.
