But it almost didn’t end up that way. “Si cancelled our first date,” Siobhan says. “But late December 2015, all my housemates had left London for Christmas and I had nothing better to do than give him a second chance!” Their first date was full of laughs, wine and espresso martinis. “We had a cracking first date,” Simon says. “I was hooked! We just clicked and we haven’t looked back.” It was on a trip to Croatia that Simon decided the time was right to pop the question. “I got ready for dinner that evening, then went to cool down on the terrace,” Siobhan tells us. “Si went in to get me a glass of wine. When he returned, he placed the wine on the table and got down on one knee – I just kept saying ‘Oh my god’ and then my mind went blank!” To this day, Siobhan isn’t sure whether she actually ever said yes! The loved-up pair decided to keep the news to themselves for the evening and enjoy their happy engagement bubble. Back home, they got to work planning their dream day for 30 th August, 2019, with a church ceremony at St Barnabas, Pimlico, followed by an epic wedding processional across Chelsea Bridge to No.29 Battersea Power Station. Siobhan continues the story… Summer
