Emily and Peter met at work in Dubai in 2017. “We worked in the same department; however, Peter was in Operations while I was in Sales,” shares Emily. “We spent a lot of time together and were friends for a little while before getting together.” Another exotic destination set the scene for the proposal. “Peter proposed in the Maldives in April 2023,” recalls Emily. “We were getting ready to go out for dinner. Peter was on the balcony of the overwater villa and called me outside to ‘see a shark swimming around’! While I was looking over the side for the ‘shark’, Peter got down on one knee!” The big date was set, 12th September 2025. Here we find out more about their day… Living together in Dubai, with Emily’s family in the south of England and Peter’s family in Scotland, the couple took ages to decide not only on a venue but even on which country to get married in. “We looked into Dubai, Vegas, Italy, Ibiza and Mallorca, but ultimately decided on London after realising we wanted an intimate wedding that wasn’t too far for family and friends to travel to,” says Emily. Emily decided that Chelsea Town Hall was the perfect place for the ceremony, and Peter was on board. Emily’s best friend, Louisa (maid-of-honour), has lived in London for years and knows all the best places. She started visiting venues and enquiring about capacity while sending videos to Emily in Dubai. “There were so many good options, but ultimately The Maine had everything we wanted. The vibe was gorgeous, the food was amazing, and Louisa already had a great relationship with them through work.” For her bridal look, Emily opted for not one but two dresses from House of CB. “I had them both altered in Dubai by a brilliant lady. As well as tailoring them to fit me, we added sleeves and a scarf. I knew I wanted something simple that I could customise if I wanted to. It was important that I felt comfortable on the day, and they really did make me feel good.” 28
