Your Kent Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 90)

The table plan was decorated with dusky pink roses, with rose gold writing. Each table was named after Gatsby-era cars, and complemented the design of our invitations. The barn looked perfect, it was just how we imagined it. We set out to create a 1920s nightclub look, and opted for navy tablecloths topped with rose gold sequin runners. The chairs had navy lace hoods complete with crystal brooches, and our centrepieces were dusky pink roses with candles. Our three-tier wedding cake was a black forest gateau, except the top tier which was a black forest eton mess with meringue, fresh cream and cherries. It was topped with a rose gold quote, which read, “And so the adventure begins.” Our guests were served canapés, rosé prosecco, and Corona on arrival. Then, for the wedding breakfast we had a barbecue with steak burgers, locally produced sausages, lamb and chicken kebabs, falafel, and halloumi with a variety of breads, salads, sauces and chutneys. We asked our guests to write their date night and holiday suggestions in our guest book, rather than standard messages of congratulations. We now have some fantastic ideas. We also had a bucket of sparklers ready for our send off later in the evening. We opted for fruit cider on the tables instead of wine, and our toasting drink was Jagerbomb! It suited us perfectly, and our guests loved it. REAL WEDDINGS 57 
