Your Kent Wedding - Mar/Apr 2020 (Issue 89)

OF THE The Inn on the Lake saw its very own Laura exchange vows with the love of her life, Stephen, on 20 th April, 2019 Images courtesy of Rebecca Douglas Photography 43 L aura and Stephen both spent time working in New York bars after university, and eventually their paths crossed at the Pig ‘n’ Whistle in 2013. “He served me up a beer and a date,” Laura laughs. The couple went to the Big Apple again five years later and revisited the bar where they’d met, but what Laura didn’t know was that Stephen had something very special up his sleeve. He’d plotted his proposal with his former manager, who had a bottle of champagne on ice and a playlist of their favourite songs from their time in the city ready to go. Laura remembers, “He got down on one knee when I wasn’t looking, and popped the question. The rest of the night was a blur!” Selecting a venue for the big day couldn’t have been easier for the pair: “As I work at the beautiful Inn on the Lake, I already knew the team and felt sure of the fantastic support I’d have in the organisation of my dream wedding. I knew there was nowhere better.” Join us as we get the lowdown from the bride on their beautiful wedding day… Lady lake  REAL WEDDINGS
