TEENAGE dream Childhood sweethearts Charlotte and Jack planned a wedding day packed with personality Images courtesy of David Batten Photography C harlotte and Jack were childhood friends from the age of five when they met at Staplehurst Free Church and attended primary school together. By the age of 16 they were dating and they’ve been together ever since. Even a long distance romance while the pair were at different universities couldn’t shake them. As teenagers Jack would come to visit Charlotte after her parents had gone to bed, climbing up onto the garage roof outside her window. “We’d hang out, play games – my parents had no idea,” Charlotte remembers. So it was in honour of these special moments that Jack devised the most romantic of proposals. When visiting her mum after work one evening, Charlotte was sent up to her childhood room to check out some post that had supposedly been stored there for her, only to find Jack back on that garage roof, this time surrounded by tea lights, with their favourite songs playing in the background. “He asked me to marry him and it was perfect,” Charlotte says.
