Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 81)

As soon as we walked into the wedding breakfast room at the Italian Villa and saw the beautiful Italianate garden outside we knew that this was the one. We loved the clean, classical elegance and the gorgeous pop of colour from the flowers outside was exactly what we were looking for. “We knew from the start that we wanted our wedding to have a classic but relaxed feel with a personal touch.” The church was special to us as we met in Bournemouth and know it well because my father is actually the rector there! He did take the day off though to just be my dad and walk me down the aisle. I wanted something timeless and elegant and loved the lace detail of my fitted Francesca dress. The Sewing Studio in Totton altered the back into a V-shape for me and understood exactly what I wanted. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable, so my bridesmaids were free to choose their own style of dress in peach or coral to go with the colour scheme. Matthew wore a custom-made navy blue Ensigna suit with a waistcoat and tan brogues. In keeping with the relaxed vibe we just asked the groomsmen to wear navy suits and we gave them peach ties so they stood out. Matthew’s sister was his best person and she wore a lovely navy blue dress and had a white buttonhole to match the others. My hand-tied bouquet was made of white and peach flowers with greenery and glimpses of peach in the trailing ribbons too. REAL WEDDINGS 29 
