Retinol or retinoids reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing collagen production, but it needs to be used in small amounts at first to reduce skin irritation – you’ll need to wear an SPF every day as well. Hyaluronic acid helps fade any pigmentation or dark spots, while working as a humectant to attract moisture – great for dry skin. Vitamin C is one of the best anti-ageing ingredients to use as it accelerates the production of both collagen and elastin, which help keep the skin plump and firm.
