With help from other talented suppliers, including James Polley Photography, the couple created the perfect wedding with rustic décor and a dusky pink colour scheme. The whole aim of the day was to celebrate two people coming together, and the guests had a great time – especially on the dancefloor! There was so much emotion throughout the day, with lovely speeches and heartwarming moments. The couple felt so happy and excited on the wedding morning. Chole says, “A part that stood out was walking down the aisle and locking eyes with Lewis for the first time – the emotions were so high at this point!” The pair had the best day ever, evident from the smiles and laughter in every photo. Check out their special day on page 31 and find plenty of wedding inspiration. Once upon a time Amy and Benjamin’s fairytale-themed wedding was full of celebrations Images courtesy of Fairytale Wedding Photos 24

Amy and Benjamin first met on a blind double date with friends at a cocktail bar in St Albans. Amy was instantly attracted to Benjamin’s smile and eyes while he loved her appearance. The pair shared so much in common, and it was like they’d known each other for years – their conversation flowed so effortlessly. Benjamin proposed on Amy’s 29th birthday while away in Barbados. She says, “We had arranged dinner on the beach on our first day, and that’s when Ben walked over to me and asked if he could kiss me. He then got down on one knee in the sand and popped the question!” She adds, “Our waitress was so excited and frantically came over to take photos – it was the most magical evening!” SETTING THE SCENE After setting the wedding date for the 3rd September 2021, the couple set off the find the perfect backdrop to their wedding. The pair travelled to 10 different venues, including Offley Place Country House Hotel, to find the perfect space. Surrounded by 27 acres of manicured lawns, the 17th-century manor house was recommended to the pair by a friend. They fell in love with property’s classic but modern features, including the incredible chandeliers and breathtaking ballroom — the pair could both imagine the perfect wedding surrounded by their loved ones. On the day, the couple added a love sign, a doughnut wall and a sweet cart, which was a big hit with the children! Another sweet treat was the threetiered cake, which had a flower design to match the centrepieces. The top tier had a chocolate flavour while the middle was salted caramel and the bottom was a Victoria sponge. Bella Collection created the beautiful table plan and each table was named after different countries that the pair had visited on holiday together. Tall vases and flowers were placed in the middle of each table to allow people to see each other easily while creating a more intimate setting. For favours, each guest was given a mirrored-acrylic coaster that doubled up as a place name. To get to the venue, Benjamin travelled in an Aston Martin DB11 from Supercar Experiences. The vehicle created the perfect backdrop to photographs and was the ideal way to arrive in style. LOOKING THE PART When it came to finding the perfect gown, the bride fell in love with a Stella York dress and accessorised her look with a veil and headpiece. She says, “I got everything from Brides of Berkhamsted, which is a great shop that I’d highly recommend because I had an amazing experience.” To make sure the gown was the perfect fit, alterations and personal touches were added by Lorna at Lolly Couture. The bride adds, “I also had personal training sessions with the incredible Millie George. Me and the dress wouldn’t have been the same without this amazing lady.” Benjamin opted for a three-piece navy suit with a navy tie, Gucci shoes, cufflinks, and a watch. The groomsmen wore navy suits but with pink ties to match the bridesmaids’ blush dresses and different waistcoats to allow the groom to stand out. TIME TO CELEBRATE After the perfect ceremony, the couple hired a toastmaster to escort guests outside for the drinks reception. To create a relaxed and romantic atmosphere, a saxophonist played background music and was the perfect addition to the day. A DJ played in the evening to get the party started and all guests loved dancing the night away. MEMORABLE MOMENTS A wedding is always full of lovely memories to look back on and remember, which is a huge reason why wedding photography is so important. The lovebirds were full of emotions on the day and were so excited to become husband and wife. Amy loved getting ready in the morning with her bridesmaids, and the ceremony was so special after such a long time waiting to exchange vows. Their twin niece REAL WEDDING 25

and nephew were the flowergirl and page boy; they both looked so adorable! The lovebirds felt so lucky to be surrounded by loved ones again after being apart due to Covid-19 restrictions. Amy says, “Just seeing everyone enjoy themselves and having such a good time was so amazing.” During the wedding breakfast, the best man’s speech had everyone laughing when a projector came out with funny photos of the groom. HONEYMOON After the perfect wedding day, Amy and Benjamin jetted off to Mykonos for some relaxation time together, where they created lovely memories. The pair can’t wait for their main honeymoon trip to the Maldives for two weeks at the end of 2021! “Our advice for other couples would be not to sweat over the small stuff. Little things might not go to plan in the lead up to the wedding, but don’t let that change how you feel on the day. It will all work out, and you’ll get the day you both deserve.” – Amy 26

Lewis and Chloe created the perfect rustic wedding at the White Horse Tea Green Images courtesy of James Polley Photography ALL AROUND Chloe was at work when she first met Lewis, who was out with friends at the time. After arranging to meet up, the pair started to form a strong connection. Chloe says, “I was attracted to his caring nature and big cheeky smile, while he loved my silly but funny ways.” After sharing adventurous experiences and memorable holidays, the couple started to fall deeper in love, and the rest is history. Lewis proposed in 2016, during a holiday in Thailand. Chloe says, “We were watching fireworks and lanterns being let off on New Year’s Eve from our rooftop when he proposed. We both cried with happiness and was so excited for our next chapter together.” Here Chloe shares details about their special day... love is REAL WEDDINGS 31

We had a memory ladder, a postbox, a sweet table and a guestbook dotted around the venue. Our centrepieces included birdcages with petals and 3D butterfly details on top of wooden logs. My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer back in November 2020; it was Christmas day and the most special gift I could ha ve asked my dad for was to walk me down the aisle – he was so emotional and hap py. Ever since I was a little girl, it was my dream to have my dad give me away to so meone special. Sadly, we lost him in January, and we moved our wedding date from February to August. The flowers on the day consisted of gypsophila and roses. The White Horse Tea Green’s setting is beautiful and meant we wouldn’t need to do much in regards to décor. Our advice for other couples would be to enjoy every moment of the day, it’s your wedding and don’t feel pressured to do or change anything. 32

I felt like a princess when I first saw myself all re ady. I wore a beautifully detailed dress with diamanté earrings and sparkly heels. We travelled in a white Beauford convertible. The groomsman wore dark grey suits with white s hirts and black ties. For food, we had a hog roast and a three-tiered cake with a jam and buttercream filling. The three eldest bridesmaids wore maxi dresses in dusky pink, while the younger girls had sparkly pink princess-style gowns. Lewis felt grown up and smart once he finished getting ready. He wore a puppy tooth three-piece suit from Burton in light grey with a light-pink tie. REAL WEDDINGS 33

We had a DJ that got everyone up and dancing. Walking down the aisle and locking eyes with Lewis was such a memorable moment – emotions were very high at this point. We’ve booked a trip to Portugal in 2022 for our honeymoon, which we’re super excited about and can’t wait to celebrate. My uncle flew over from America to be with us and made the day extra special by giving me away. 34

LOVE of my life Jade and James’s magical wedding featured dusky pink and grey hues Images courtesy of Red Peacock Photography After crossing paths a few times, Jade and James finally went on a date on New Year’s Day and learnt more about each other. It was clear from the start that they had met their perfect match and slowly fell in love. James proposed to Jade back in 2017 while walking around Walton Hall and Gardens – it was a moment the pair will always treasure. The couple set the wedding date for the 1st October 2021, and they worked hard to create the perfect wedding surrounded by loved ones. Here Jade shares details about their special day… REAL WEDDINGS 35

We opted for a semi-naked cake to match our rustic theme. We used an off-white card with a grey wash effect for our stationery. Everything about the ceremony was perfect! The centrepieces consisted of log stands, candles and a selection of different jars with beautiful dusky pink, grey and cream flowers inside. We had a yummy hog roast for the evening meal. We wanted an exclusive venue where everyone could relax and enjoy the day without travelling to different locations – so South Farm was the perfect location! 36

The bridesmaids wore dusky pink dresses. James and all the groomsmen wore three-piece suits, but the groom and the best man had different waistcoats to stand out. I wore a gown from Halo & Wren, which was very simple but perfect for me. My husband arrived at the wedding in his Lamborghini, while I travelled in a white Rolls-Royce Phantom. A fantastic harpist played during the ceremony, which worked perfectly with our day and the guests loved her. We had a DJ in the evening to keep everyone entertained. 37 REAL WEDDINGS
