Your Herts and Beds Wedding - February/March 2024 (Issue 102)

We were lucky enough to have our stunning bouquets donated to us by a florist in Stevenage. Our venue provided the catering! We opted for a tapas option, which was very delicious and we had lots of complements about the food on the day – we then had pizza for the evening. We chose long candles, some greenery and wooden logs for the centrepieces. We knew we wanted to get married but wanted to enjoy being engaged, spending time in our home together, travelling and a few other plans. But Paddy was diagnosed with brain cancer, Glioblastoma, back in June 2022. We didn’t know at the time how long he had, what the circumstances would be going forward and if he would be up to a wedding if we left it any longer. We just knew we wanted to be married as soon as possible, no matter what, to enjoy it as much as possible. A very good friend of ours made our three-tiered cake as a wedding gift, which was so beautiful with a clear middle layer with blue lights to match the colour scheme. We just knew Milling Barn was for us as soon as we walked in! The rustic spaces had this warm atmosphere inside; like this was where we were meant to be. We kept looking around and were speechless at how beautiful the beams were. 36
