K atie and Thomas met in Puerto Banus in Spain in September 2007. “I was on my first girl’s holiday and Thomas was away with his friends,” Katie tells us. “We were sharing the pool belonging to the villas and Thomas asked me if I wanted to have a go on his inflatable turtle! We clicked straight away with me being attracted to his sense of humour and him being attracted to my bikini!” Katie adds, “We discovered that we lived close to each other at home so we exchanged numbers and started dating as soon as the holiday was over – we haven’t looked back since!” The couple became engaged after 10 years of dating when Thomas popped the question on Christmas Eve. “We were in the process of relocating to Bristol from Surrey when Thomas asked me to marry him in our old flat,” Katie tells us. “It’s lovely to have that memory there by the Christmas tree. “We had spent the day at Hever Castle which was so romantic decorated with twinkling lights. I thought he might have proposed there, like I did when we had visited Vienna in November for our anniversary, but Thomas had other ideas – he was waiting until I least expected it!
