DRESSED TO IMPRESS I’m looking for a boho-style dress to wow my guests, what would you suggest? The boho style has now started to be incorporated into classic ballgown dresses. This is a great departure from the shape of the whimsical and natural flow of the bohemian-style gowns, which doesn’t suit every bride – especially if you’re relatively slim/petite or curvy with a fuller figure. The new take on the style features full shaping and long floaty sleeves. It can still be sexy in a classic way with cut out backs or low fronts, so you do get everything in one gown! Our head stylist Jo loves this look and styles it brilliantly on many different customers. An excellent option for brides wanting to switch their looks around for the reception is adding detachable sleeves and a sparkly underskirt. This season features great styles of jewellery; here are a few items that are currently popular. Pearl drop earrings that dangle just above the shoulder are perfect for an elegant style and silver or rose gold metals enhance the timeless pearls perfectly. Many brides opt for mismatch looks with different earrings in each ear but with similar designs, and necklaces that include different materials such as half pearls and half crystals or half chain. Lariat and layered-style jewellery are both trending; each can feature different colours or textures to give an elegant and classy look. Adding colour is very popular and can match the colour scheme and style of wedding. Always remember to choose your jewellery around your outfit and not the other way around. For a heavily embellished dress wear simple jewellery, and for a plain dress add plenty of bling. This could be a tennis necklace with a matching bracelet and earrings or a crystal headband. Hair accessories are a great way to enhance your hairstyle; there are plenty of different styles out there from hair vines and tiaras to just a fancy headband. If you know what you want but can’t find it, try handmade bespoke pieces. Amanda O’Brien Angel Whispers Tiaras and More www.facebook.com/Angelwhisperstiaras www.mag giesottero.com/rebecca-ingram 76
