Your East Midlands Wedding - June/July 2020 (Issue 38)

We picked green and white hues with a little bit of blue for our flowers, which we wanted to keep relaxed and informal – my bouquet was big but I loved it. We had rose gold jam jars, small candle holders and bottles of port (used for the speeches to reflect the proposal) with specially designed labels for centrepieces. Our table plan was a map of the world and the tables were named after previous travels and printed on large luggage tags. We loved The West Mill as soon as we visited; we knew we would as soon as we saw it online. The mixture of old and new and the choice for photos, from the riverside to industrial buildings, was great. We particularly liked the idea that everything took place on its own floor – there would be no waiting for rooms to be turned around. We kept it simple and combined the place names and favours together by having small milk bottles of flowers for the women and beers (tailored to taste) for the men. Each had a small luggage label with the name on one side and our initials and date stamp on the other 28
