Your East Midlands Wedding - Dec/Jan 2019 (Issue 35)

LOVE ALL AROUND  Emma and Aidan enjoyed a traditional wedding with a hint of steampunk  Images courtesy of Captcha Photography For our favours, we choose to have personalised shot glasses with the words ‘Mr & Mrs Howard’ and the date of the wedding. We both love old buildings and Prestwold has so much character and brilliant features, not to mention stunning grounds, amazing staff and incredible food. The rooms are set out perfectly so people can sit, dance, drink and be by the music or enjoy some quiet time away from it. It was important that the flowers were bright and our florist Berryfields channelled this vision perfectly! E mma and Aidan’s love story first started through Facebook as they were part of the same group. Emma says, “I had a few wines with my mum one Friday night who had been nagging me about my taste in men. I then saw Aidan’s face on the group chat and clicked on it. I looked to see if he was local and single, and as he was and I added him. A week later we had our first date and what can I say, the rest is history!” From there the couple bonded over their taste in music and life goals, which made them realise they had a lot in common. On a trip to Switzerland with close friends for Emma’s birthday, the group played the ring of fire card game in the log cabin after having a lovely day in the snow. Emma says, “Aidan pulled the Jack card, so he had to set a rule that the other players had to do; his rule was that ‘Emma has to say yes to whatever I ask her’. Then he was on one knee, holding the most beautiful black diamond ring. I was completely shocked and said ‘no’ but half a second later I burst out crying and said ‘yes’ over and over again!” Here Emma tells us details about their special day... REAL WEDDINGS 39 
