Your East Midlands Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 32)

QUIRKY CAMPER I love the idea of hiring a Campervan but it’s a shame to only use it for our transport. How can we make the most of it throughout our day? Anna says: When you book a Campervan for your wedding, you’re not simply booking wheels you’re booking a bit of personality too! To really make use of having this quirky little piece of history, use the vehicle for other things too. At Vintage Camper Hire we encourage you to use Betsy in your pics, working alongside a photographer who has experience or an interest in photographing campers. We also offer a range of additional services to enhance your experience including Betsy’s Photo Booth and Sweet Shop. Meet the expert… Anna Davidson | Transport expert | vintagecamperhire.co.uk Anna and the team will work with you to think outside the tin box on wheels to make sure you get the best experience and excellent value for money when hiring Betsy. BLOOMING BOILING Can you advise on the best flowers for summer weddings? I want a seasonal look and blooms that won’t wilt in the heat. Jessica says: Some of the most sought after blooms are at their optimum quality during the summer months. Hydrangeas, tea roses, stocks, nigella and peonies are all at their natural best. With stunning new varieties becoming available, we’re seeing brides being bold with their choice of colours. Unfortunately, most seasonal flowers can wilt in extreme weather conditions, however, a good florist will use all the precautionary measures to ensure they look beautiful all day. A tip to help your bouquet last is to have a vase filled with fresh cool water ready at your reception venue for it to stand in when you’re seated or socialising. Meet the expert… Jessica Wells | Florist | jessicamaryflowers.co.uk With more than 13 years’ experience in the industry, Jess loves helping brides along their journey and getting them excited about their big-day blooms. Romantic style I’d love a floaty whimsical dress for our August nuptials that’s not too hot. Which styles would be best for me to consider bearing this in mind? Caroline says:  I’d suggest nothing too full or with lots of net layers and petticoats. Gowns that skim the figure as opposed to very fitted designs work well as they’re less structured and feel very easy to wear. Fabrics play a huge part in the design when looking at lighter-weight gowns. Chiffons are perfect as are soft tulles, Chantilly lace and softer crepe satins. It’s good to look at breathable fabrics with natural fibres such as silk, as this will help to keep you cool. Softer material drapes beautifully to create a stunning look that’s very ethereal, giving you that soft, floaty silhouette.  Meet the expert… Caroline Chamberlain | Bridal boutique owner carolinechamberlain.co.uk Caroline’s worked in the bridal industry for the past 20 years. She loves designing and creating each bride’s perfect gown and seeing their reaction once it’s completed. harveyharveyphotography.com EXPERT ADVICE 95
