Your East Midlands Wedding - Feb/Mar 2019 (Issue 30)

We hired a beautiful vintage Daimler called Olivia. Our driver was incredibly patient and we had a little box of handy supplies such as tissues, plasters and tic tacs! Our chairs were dressed with blush drapes that were tied with pearl brooches. We had laser cut calligraphy place names and prosecco- flavoured lollipop favours. Some were decorated with the word love and some with edible flowers encased inside. Our centrepieces were real candles in hurricane vases surrounded by fresh flowers. They looked better than we could have imagined and worked perfectly with the surroundings. We had acrylic table names and a welcome sign at the entrance of the venue to match. They were simple yet elegant in their own right. Jade’s top tip: At some point during the day take a brief moment together to look around the room and take it all in. We did this and it was a moment that’ll always stay with me. Our cake looked and tasted amazing. It’s something that our guests are still commenting on months later! As well as our bake we had cake pops and a doughnut wall framed with white flowers. They really added the wow-factor to the cake table. My bouquet and the buttonholes were designed around the centrepieces for everything to tie together and the bridesmaids’ bouquets were simple arrangements of gypsophila. We wanted lost love ones to be remembered on the day so we hung photos of them from blossom trees. It made a real statement in the room and brought a tear to many eyes. REAL WEDDINGS 51
