Your East Anglian Wedding - June/July2020 (Issue 43)

My bridesmaids had floor-length, made-to-measure gowns as I wanted them to feel as comfortable as possible. We had a church service in Beccles and the town was the perfect place for our guests to enjoy a traditional English experience. After trying on many dresses my maid-of-honour finally found the one  in a boutique that did bespoke gowns and I had a longer train added to the template and changed the neckline. The church was beautiful and the priest who married us has worked for the same charity as me for years so it was very personal. The organist Matthew Hardy had been my piano teacher since I was three and I walked down the aisle to the same trumpet concerto as my mum on her wedding day. My friend Matthew also sang while we signed the register Chris wore a bespoke navy suit with a silver tie and we hired suits for the groomsmen. We had a three-day celebration, including a meal with c lose family on the Friday evening and on the Sunday morning after the wedding we hosted brunch for our guests. It was Mother’s Day too so all the mums took some wedding flowers home with them. 44
