A country Emma and Chris’ wedding was a glorious three-day affair Images courtesy of Jemma Hardy Photography Chris proposed to Emma in her grandparents’ garden on 23 rd December, 2017. They were there for an early Christmas family get together and Chris picked the moment to make sure her grandfather, who was unwell, was included. He designed the ring himself, incorporating diamonds and sapphires, in a nod to Emma’s mother and grandmother who had the same gems in their rings. Emma said ‘yes’ of course and after having Christmas lunch with everyone they spent a romantic night away at the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard in London. When it came to choosing where to have the wedding, they had their heart set on Norfolk where Emma grew up and they both fell in love with Hales Hall for the reception. “There was no comparison,” says Emma. “The beauty and grandeur of the venue and the secluded setting make you feel like you’re in a world of your own.” Read on for her account of their magical wedding weekend… weekend Emma Stenson and Chris Butt were married at St Benet’s Minster Catholic Church, Beccles followed by a reception at Hales Hall, Loddon on 30 th March, 2019. 43  REAL WEDDINGS
