Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - March/April 2021 (Issue 30)

Because we were originally planning on having a wedding of 185 guests and had to cut numbers to just 24 loved ones (because of the Government restrictions that were put in place), our table plan changed rather drastically! We decided on a large square trestle table for the adults to sit around and the children were seated on mini picnic benches. We both loved the idea of exchanging our vows down by the water’s edge, it was so romantic. Our other flower arrangements and bouquets mirrored this, brimming with sunflowers and wildflower varieties. We had foliage hoops suspended from the ceiling that provided the wow-factor! I went for a job interview at Cornish Tipi Weddings not long after we got engaged and instantly fell in love with it. I remember saying to the team in the interview that even if they didn’t hire me, I would still get married there! I did get the job (as the wedding coordinator) so having worked on many weddings at the venue, I was able to see how each different couple styled it and which ideas I liked best. “We were both relieved to finally get married after postponing it and then worrying that it might get moved again.” — Laura “We had booked Taco Boys to cater for our evening food for our original wedding date so they kindly agreed to provide breakfast on the beach for our friends the morning after the wedding which was great because it meant that we got to see everyone again and you can’t beat breakfast tacos!” — Laura Our centrepieces were wine bottles filled with wildflowers and sunflowers which set the tone of our theme. 34
