Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 54)

Each guest was gifted a shot of toffee vodka in mini bottles labelled with personalised stickers. Also, we donated the money we would have spent on drinks for toasting to the Alzheimer’s Society, and gave everyone one of the charity’s pins. A harpist played a selection of our favourite songs as guests arrived for the ceremony, including A Thousand Years as I walked down the aisle. Later she moved outside to entertain with The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and The Power of Love. For an element of the traditional we hired a classic car, which picked the bridal party up and took us to the venue. Then, as newlyweds, we went for a drive after the ceremony, which was the perfect time to reflect and steal a few moments together. The bridesmaids wore backless floor-length dresses in mink. These were paired with sequin belts to match mine. Stuart was looking for a tweed suit, which would be in keeping with the style of the venue, and fell in love with a three piece one in light brown. He accessorised with a bow tie, which he made from the same fabric as the bridesmaids’ dresses. I wanted to wear something fairly traditional, and when I tried on this satin ballgown I fell in love straight away. I’d set my heart on wearing lace, so I paired the dress with a lace bolero, which finished the look perfectly. 34
