TACKLED Jade and Stuart said “I do” at Stock Farm on 24 th August, 2019 Images courtesy of Wedding Photography by Joe Bickerton J ade met rugby-player Stuart at a 21st birthday house party a decade ago. They got chatting about the sport, but Jade didn’t believe that he played for the local team. So, to prove it, Stuart rugby- tackled her onto their friends’ newly laid lawn – they weren’t impressed! The pair talked and laughed their way through the rest of the night, and that’s how it’s been ever since. Jade tells us, “Stuart has the most amazing personality, and I haven’t stopped laughing since the day I met him.” Following eight years of pressure and hints from parents, friends and Jade, Stuart popped the question. “He took me to Cloud 23 in Manchester, where we went on our first date. This was a few days before my birthday, so I thought that was why we were going. After our first drink Stuart asked me to stand up so he could take a photo, handing his phone to a passing waiter. As I posed for the camera, Stuart got down on one knee and proposed,” Jade remembers. He presented her with the very ring she’d been in love with for years, having worked in the jewellers that sold it. As they got up from their table and rounded the corner, a further surprise was lying in wait: their parents and closest friends had arrived to help them celebrate. When thoughts turned to the wedding day, the venue goals included somewhere rustic, with a relaxed atmosphere and picturesque views. “We felt Stock Farm had all of this and more,” Jade explains.
