Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 51)

Our caterers served tapas for our wedding breakfast, which was something we’d always wanted. Our wines were a selection of those we’d enjoyed on our various travel overseas. We wrote the story of each one in a booklet for each table. In the evening we ate pizza and an incredible cheese wedding cake. Guests names were handwritten on bird and butterfly cards to suit our enchanted forest theme, which sat on the side of their wine glasses. All of our tables were named after movies since we went to the cinema on our first date. The films were: Peter Rabbit, Armageddon, Jurassic Park, Up, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Star War s and The Greatest Showman . We played a game during dinner where guests had to listen out for their movie’s theme tune and dance to win more wine. My mum breeds Shetland ponies, so it was really special to have some come to visit us at the reception. We made one a headdress so she looked like a baby unicorn. My mum made the cake and it looked better than anything we could have imagined. She decorated it beautifully with artificial flowers. I always knew I wanted blossom trees as centrepieces, as I loved them as soon as I saw them at a wedding fair. We also sprayed wine bottles gold, filled them with flowers and attached cork lights.
