Your Cheshire & Merseyside Wedding - Jan/Feb 2018 (Issue 37)

31 The best piece of advice I received was to take in every moment on the day as husband and wife. It goes by so fast so just relax and enjoy it and don’t stress about the little things you have no control over. My maid of honour read out a letter I’d written to her when we were at school telling her how I was falling in love Adam and asking her what I should do! It was so embarrassing but such a hilarious moment. Music was a big part of our celebrations. Guy Porteous filled in at the last minute, as our original pianist couldn’t make it; he surprised everyone with his lovely voice. Our harpist learned a song for us and created the most elegant ambience for our ceremony. We had some wonderful suppliers who really went above and beyond. Our photographer, Shaun Meredith, made me calm and relaxed as he captured the most emotional and natural memories of the day. My sister is a make-up artist and she made me and my girls feel amazing. We opted for a vintage, romantic theme for our nuptials, so Thornton Manor was the perfect venue. The balcony and ceiling in the music room were so classical that it reminded us of something from Romeo & Juliet. We chose simple, feminine hydrangeas and roses in dusky pink and white. My favourite moment was when we hid on the balcony together before popping up and surprising our guests. As we sat there, trying to be quiet, Adam gestured to his ring and whispered ‘We’re married!’ That’s the moment it really sunk in.
