Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - Feb/Mar 2019 (Issue 69)

I found my gown in Bride At Home, Bristol. I adored the eye-catching gem detail and the way it highlighted my curves. I visited several different stores with my two bridesmaids and my mum and tried lots of different styles before making my decision. Daniel and I went shopping together for his suit. He found the perfect outfit in Mens Hire Nailsea: a traditional grey morning suit with an ivory and silver waistcoat. His groomsmen wore the same but with plain grey waistcoats. I bought my bridesmaids’ dresses well in advance, but a couple of months before the wedding, I had a change of heart and realised I didn’t like them anymore. This was a stressful last-minute change, but I was so happy with the floaty grey styles they ended up with. For a classic feel, we had a harpist play during the ceremony, followed by a DJ and live musician for the reception. He was wonderful and encouraged everyone to get up and dance, playing a great mix of modern and old-school music. The end of the night turned into an unplanned karaoke session! Instead of just putting a plate of food in front of our loved ones, we opted for huge sharing platters on the tables. It was so tasty, and people are still talking about the wedding breakfast now.
