Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - Feb/Mar 2019 (Issue 69)

We visited several venues in North Somerset, but as soon as we stepped foot inside Coombe Lodge, we fell in love with it. I did my work experience at the venue when I was 15, and the beauty of it has always stuck with me. It’s truly breathtaking, and we knew it’d look stunning in photographs. We chose a traditional theme, with silver touches and a butterfly motif running throughout. Our centrepieces were round bowls filled with calla lilies and gems. In the evening, we filled the bowls with water and floating candles for a cosy feeling. Our delicious two-tier cake was in grey and white, with flowers cascading down one side. The table plan had a gorgeous silver-glitter border, and our place names were pretty white butterflies that Daniel hand-wrote all our guests’ names on. My grandmother has Parkinson’s disease and sadly couldn’t be there on the day. I decided to donate to Parkinson’s UK in her honour and order their favour cards for our friends and family. 54
