Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - October/November 2020 (Issue 85)

REAL WEDDINGS 45  We gave the children ribbon wands which they loved. We opted for an afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast and served our guests hot and cold canapés, bacon and sausage rolls and a cheese board during the evening party. “We didn’t have traditional speeches. Instead, we gave a speech and thanked everyone before our afternoon tea.” – Sky and Daniel. We decided against having a structured seating plan so that our loved ones could sit anywhere. This meant that we didn’t have any table or place names. Each centrepiece was a variety of coloured bottles in different shapes filled with wildflowers and a mix of colourful candles. My bouquet coordinated with these centrepieces, brimming with bright wildflowers and hand-tied with colourful ribbons. My floral crown was made from gypsophila and was also adorned with colourful ribbons. I chose a full-length lace dress with sleeves and an open back which I had altered. I added a pearl ribbon belt and my shoes were white glittery block heels which I loved.
