Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - October/November 2020 (Issue 85)

44 We walked down to the River Thames to read our personal vows in private. We had written these ourselves and kept them a secret from one another until the day. While we were there, a man on his boat kindly invited us to get on it so we got some wonderful, unexpected photographs! We decorated the fireplace in the ceremony room with colourful candles and flowers and lined the aisle with hurricane lamps containing fairylights. We discovered CourtGarden House and both fell in love with it, it’s such a beautiful venue situated in a wonderful location in Higginson Park on the River Thames. The interior of this Georgian townhouse is stunning, with grand stately rooms, high ceilings and glittering chandeliers. Our registrar was beautifully spoken, very calm and made our ceremony and readings engaging and humorous. My brother also helped to calm my nerves before our ceremony and made the day extra special by walking me down the aisle. We made our sweetie table by filling large jars with a variety of sweets. “We stayed together the night before our wedding day and even got ready together! We both felt excited for our special day!” – Sky and Daniel “I walked to the venue with my mum and our photographers.” – Sky
