Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - June/July 2020 (Issue 83)

The theme for our wedding was rustic and relaxed and we both fell in love with Herons Barn which fitted our theme perfectly. A beautiful 19th-century barn set in 420 acres of rolling hills and valleys. We also loved the quirky little cottages for us and our guests to stay in, each one unique with lots of original features. The bridesmaids had floral-patterned dresses in pink and blue shades. My maid-of-honour Becky has been a lifelong friend, we grew up together and lived next door to each other as children I was Becky’s MOH at her wedding 10 years ago. Sam, my bridesmaid, and I became friends though our husbands and she is one of the people that can always make me laugh and organised my crazy hen do. Both the girls were amazing support to me. My dress was white with a long train and an off-the-shoulder design that I loved. I accessorised with a cathedral-length veil. My sister Mel was with me when I chose my dress, we both cried as did the lady in the shop, Borrowed Blue & Lace in Wokingham. The groom and best man had navy suits and tweed waistcoats to complement the colours. Longacres Garden Centre in Bagshot created our bouquets. I chose pink roses, pale blue hydrangeas, white allegro and gypsophila flowers which echoed the dress colours too. 28
