An Essex Wedding - September/Ocotber 2020 (Issue 94)

That Amazing Place is simply beautiful; we felt comfortable there as soon as we arrived. We were looking for somewhere with history, but with a chic interior, and the venue really fitted our vision. It also has the most idyllic grounds for an al fresco ceremony. Our table plan was from Quill London. It was adorned with a swag of foliage and roses and we surrounded it with petals and Jo Malone candles in Mimosa and Cardamom. We wanted to have a wedding scent that our guests would enjoy, and the fragrance would remind us of our day for years to come. In the marquee, we had six long tables, with a giant balloon on each displaying the table number. These were from Bubblegum Balloons and they looked brilliant. We had a runner of florals down the middle of the table and the place settings were carved out of wood and painted gold. We gave Macmillan Cancer Support pin badges as favours; it was important to us that the money went to a worthy cause. We didn’t really have a theme, we just wanted it to look attractive and for our guests to have an amazing day. We also wanted decorations and props that we’d not seen at weddings before, and the blank-canvas setting allowed us to be very flower-heavy without any clashes. Our florist, Louise Waterman Flowers, totally understood my vision and I trusted her completely. The florals were a mix of lilac and cream roses with white hydrangeas – they looked incredible! 52
