LESSONS in love Rachel and Jonny knew they were meant for each other after just four months Images courtesy of Matt Godman Wedding Photography Rachel and Jonny met while the bride was studying for a Master’s in Archaeology at the University of York. “Jonny lived close by in Beverley, and we initially started talking about how much we love the countryside – and how much we love dogs!” says Rachel. “We met at the weekends, and on our third date Jonny took me for drinks to celebrate having submitted my dissertation that morning.” As the relationship progressed, the couple spoke more about spending their future together. “This meant we came to an understanding that we were going to get married before anyone proposed!” continues the bride. “After dating for less than four months, we started talking about engagement rings, and I asked my dad if I might have my great grandmother’s, which he’d put away. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it fitted down to my size, so I chose my own antique engagement ring, keeping our wedding bands as a surprise gift to exchange on the day.” The couple chose the 28th May, 2022 for their celebration, marrying at Bolton Castle.
