Your Sussex Wedding - April/May 2023 (Issue 102)

This stunning shoot mirrors The Observatory Science Centre’s history and hues to perfection Images courtesy of DB Photography Sussex Inspired by the The Observatory Science Centre, one of Sussex’s most characterful and unusual wedding venues, Jade Buss from DB Photography Sussex put together a styled shoot to reflect the era of its origin. She says, “It’s such a unique building, part of a very long history of the royal observatories. Construction began in the 1940s and was completed in the 1950s and when you think of this period you can’t help but picture its timeless glamour.” A soft, feminine look for the bride was paired with strong suit for the groom, and while the team were keen to incorporate a modern take, maintaining the classic vibe was key. “For the colour palette, we wanted to play into the venue itself,” Jade continues. “The domes that dominate its main vista are coated in copper that’s weathered over time into gorgeous hues of green. So, we went with white, greens and copper to complement this.” Also, look out for the clever nods to astronomy with the model’s celestial jewellery along with a few pops of sparkle.
