Your Sussex Wedding - Decmeber 2022/January 2023 (Issue 100)

SNAP HAPPY How can we personalise our photo booth experience? We understand the importance of making your wedding day unlike any other. So, imagine your photo booth mirror illuminating the room with the colour of your chosen palette! You can also have your photo prints matching the theme of your wedding for all guests to remember the big day the way you want them to! Your loved ones can also upload photos of your wedding on the night they were taken for everyone else to see. Plus, with Event Gent you’ll also have a mirror attendant who wants to do whatever they can to make sure you have the best experience possible, and who can forget all the silly hats and props to get even the most introverted of guests involved and having a great time. We provide all of this and everything else you’d expect from a photo booth service. You can also make the most of unlimited prints during your event, take high quality DSLR images, get your photos right away with super-fast printing, and take away an album and USB stick of all the photos. Chris Wilson, www.eventgent.co.uk THE YOUNG ONES There will be children of all ages from 0 to 14 at our wedding, how on earth do we keep them all out of trouble?! A wedding can be a really long day for the little guests. To keep them all busy and entertained we suggest enlisting the help of a crèche company. For example, we at Event Childcare, will set up at your wedding venue with our mobile crèche and activities along with qualified nannies, taking the stress away from you as well as their parents, allowing you all to relax and unwind. At booking stage we’ll ask you about the ages and numbers of children we’ll be taking care of, and it’s vital this is accurate, as we work within the ratios set out by Ofsted. What’s more, if you mention to your coordinator or planner that you’re looking into hiring nannies, they’ll be able to give you the options of the rooms and spaces available for your crèche company to set up camp. Some examples of activities include, but are not limited to: bubble machine, bracelet making, tote bag designing, badge making, pebble painting, reading and word games, dress-up box, Lego and Duplo, and toy vehicles. Seasonal crafts such as Easter hat making, bauble painting, Valentine’s card making and Halloween mask painting are also an option. What’s more, if you’re having a themed wedding, let us know and we’ll match our activities to it. Sophia Mainwaring, www.eventchildcare.net SET THE SCENE We’re getting married in January and we’d love some gorgeous couple portraits to treasure, but we’re worried about losing the natural light so early. Are there ways around this? Winter days being shorter means a little forward thinking is required. While fading light can be challenging, there are a number of ways around this... It may be that you plan your ceremony for earlier in the day, while the light is more favourable. Bringing your timings forward by just an hour could make a significant difference. You may also choose to use fairylights, candles and even sparklers to bring excitement, atmosphere and importantly, lovely ambient light to your images. Thinking outside the box a little, how about a first look where you have your couple photo shoot before the ceremony? By doing this you can alleviate any worries, knowing that your formal photos are in the bag regardless of when the sun sets. Most importantly, you and your photographer need to understand the timings of your day and your vision for the photos. Great photographers will always have the experience and skills to capture fantastic images whatever the day throws at them.
