Callum employed his best detective techniques to track her down on Facebook and ask her for a date, having got her name from the gym’s sign-in book. The couple love to visit a secluded beach close to where they live and on one occasion had gone there for a barbecue and to watch the sun set over the sea. Callum had chosen the perfect spot and waited for the perfect moment. As the sky began to turn golden over the sea, he got down on one knee before popping the cork on a bottle of Champagne to celebrate Lizzie’s “yes”. Lizzie and Callum visited a lot of venues across the South West trying to find the ideal location for their big day. Pynes House was one of the final appointments on the list and from the moment they arrived it took their breath away. “The house and grounds were immaculate, and the atmosphere felt so romantic,” Lizzie remembers. “It was exactly what we were looking for.” Envisioning a classic, summer wedding, the couple set out to create a look that felt elegant and timeless. They built their colour palette around soft sage green and paired it with beautiful white florals. Several focalpoint arrangements were strategically positioned at ceremony and reception venues to showstopping effect. Meanwhile, the stationery and signage were minimalist and neutral, adding to the timeless vibe. The sense of elegance continued as guests arrived and were welcomed with a choice of prosecco, elderflower spritz and Pimm’s. There was a cocktail hour later in the day, followed by a Champagne tower in the evening, which Lizzie fondly remembers as a highlight. During the day Lizzie wore Ava by Trish Peng before changing into Goldie by Grace Loves Lace for the evening celebrations. “I actually tried on Ava three times across two different boutiques,” Lizzie shares. “It wasn’t until the third time, when I paired it with a bold lace veil, that everything came together and I knew it was the one.” The first look with her mum and dad on the big day was an emotional moment, one Lizzie will never forget. Callum wore a classic tux with his groomsmen dressed to match him. The bridesmaids were dressed in beautiful one-shoulder satin gowns in sage green paired with gold shoes and accessories. Music was important to the couple as they were keen to keep a lively atmosphere going throughout the day. A string quartet performed during the ceremony in the church, which was followed by a saxophonist for the wedding drinks who also DJed later on. A live acoustic duo supplied the wedding breakfast music – “The atmosphere was incredible,” Lizzie remembers. A live band then took the helm in the evening, keeping the dance floor full. “Travelling from the church to the venue in a horse and carriage felt like something out of a fairy tale,” Lizzie shares when asked about her most memorable moment. The bride also has some sage words of advice to share with our nearlyweds: “Do your research, book suppliers early and trust your instincts. The best suppliers get booked quickly, and it can sometimes feel overwhelming trying to make the right decisions. I definitely spent a lot of time deliberating because I’m so indecisive!
