The bride wore a champagne and almond off-theshoulder lace fit-and-flare gown by Allure Bridal. “I knew it was the one when none of the other dresses I tried could compare,” she explains. “Charlotte Elizabeth Bridal in Matlock is the queen of wedding dresses; she’s incredible!” Lewis wore Jenson, a checked blue suit by Marc Darcy. It was a three-piece with a double-breasted waistcoat, which he paired with a sage green tie. The groomsmen were dressed to match, with the exception of light rose pink ties. Two of the bridesmaids were dressed in light sage green multiway dresses, while the other two ladies wore light rose pink. There was plenty to keep guests entertained throughout the day with a giant Jenga in the garden, bubble wands and puzzle books for the children, and ice-breaker games on the tables. The couple also hired a photo booth for the evening, which was a huge hit. For Kirsty, the highlight of the day was the moment she locked eyes with Lewis when walking down the aisle towards him. “He just sobbed; it was such a heartfelt moment,” she remembers. Their first dance also stands out as they’d gone to dance lessons with a tutor who choreographed the routine for them. “We absolutely smashed it! It was so much fun, and we were both so proud we did it together,” she says. Before we part, the bride has some excellent tips for those of you planning your forthcoming nuptials: “Plan ahead, and I mean like, really ahead! Do whatever you guys want to do, it’s your day. You spend so much time and money planning your special day, so please make sure you do what makes you happy. There are always going to be some awkward people, and if they aren’t happy with how you’re having your day, that’s their problem. It’s your love story, don’t let anyone else try to shape that. Try not to stress – enjoy all the small stuff. Oh, and go to dance lessons! It’s the best thing we ever did.” REAL WEDDINGS 31
