Laura and Kieron met online in a way that seems meant to be. They originally followed each other on Instagram. They had a couple of chats but it didn’t go anywhere. Then, one night, Laura got a bit too swipe-happy on Tinder and realised she’d accidentally swiped Kieron left! So, she messaged him on Instagram to let him know. They both had a laugh about it and have been inseparable ever since. Time flew, and before they knew it, Kieron was proposing to Laura on holiday in Halkidiki, Greece, on a beautiful beach at sunset. “As soon as we stepped into Peak Edge we knew it was the venue for us,” Laura shares. “We both had that feeling immediately and I even teared up the first time we walked in.” The couple were looking for something modern and beautiful, even before décor was added. Kieron, in particular, had his sights set on somewhere with character in the countryside. Peak Edge had all of this in spades and turned out to be the perfect venue. Laura and Kieron are big footie fans and support Derby County, so they simply had to choose their team’s colours for their wedding palette. Luckily, black and white is an elegant option for a wedding! The flowers used in the styling and bouquets were neutral: a mix of white and cream with plenty of greenery. Modern black stands held the floral centrepieces, sat atop black and cream table runners. White drapes with black bows adorned the chairs throughout the ceremony and wedding breakfast, all beautifully curated by Sarah B Weddings and Events. After the drinks reception, guests sat down to a three-course wedding breakfast and were served tomato and basil soup to start, Walton Lodge roast chicken supreme with rosti potatoes and seasonal veg for the main course, and chocolate fondant ganache with honeycomb for dessert. The couple also gifted their guests mini shot bottles of Baileys to finish the speeches with as they were invited to “Have a shot of Baileys with the Baileys.” 46
