Editor Olivia Gibson experiences a luxurious stay at The Westin London City, just moments from the capital’s icons I don’t think you can get more iconic than London! A city brimming with must-see landmarks and that unmistakable charm. So, what better spot for a mini-moon than The Westin London City, perfectly situated within walking distance of St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and the Millennium Bridge? When the team reached out about staying in such an iconic setting, I couldn’t say no. Before I knew it, I was on a train to London, ready to explore this five-star hotel. SETTING THE SCENE Nestled on the River Thames, with views of Shakespeare’s Globe and Tate Modern, The Westin London City stands tall as a modern, contemporary structure that mirrors its surroundings in the water. It makes a striking first impression. As soon as we stepped inside, the busy streets of London melted away and we were welcomed into the ultimate calming retreat. The lobby felt light and spacious thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light. The design blends sleek modern lines with soft, natural touches with warm wood, muted earthy tones and plenty of artistic details, including hanging installations that instantly caught our eye. This calmmeets-modern aesthetic flows throughout the entire hotel. REST YOUR HEAD After a swift check-in with the exceptional team, we headed to our little sanctuary - our Signature King Room. And honestly, I could have sunk straight into the Westin Heavenly Bed and never left. I’m talking true bed heaven with plush pillows and a mattress that makes it incredibly hard to get up and lets all your worries melt away. The room itself is modern and elegant, dressed in natural tones that instantly create a sense of tranquillity. There’s a cosy living area, a desk, tea and coffee facilities and thoughtful amenities, including a hairdryer, robe, slippers and a makeup mirror. The spacious bathroom is sleek, complete with a large walk-in rainfall shower and luxurious toiletries. Light neutral tones, polished fixtures and generous counter space make it feel both calming and indulgent. TO DINE FOR We enjoyed a delicious meal at Mosaic, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant. The space felt welcoming without being fussy or overly formal, striking that perfect balance between relaxed and refined. Natural light pours in through large windows, giving it an airy feel that shifts beautifully throughout the day from calm and restorative in the morning to warm and sociable in the evening. I started with a glass of bubbles while browsing a menu filled with global flavours and familiar favourites.
