Your Kent Wedding - January/February 2024 (Issue 112)

Elouise helped me pick out some of my favourite springtime flowers to be part of my bouquet, bridesmaids’ bouquets and buttonholes. I chose peonies, roses, gypsophila and some greenery. I have since had them dry-pressed into frames so I can still have them around the house. Our centrepieces were vinyl records, wooden log slices and different glass vases with some of our favourite flowers. We didn’t want anything big or ostentatious in the middle, so people could talk to each other. We wanted to mix my love of pastel flowers and springtime peonies with our other favourite thing: music and records. On the table plan, each table was a vinyl record of one of our favourite bands, surrounded by pastel peonies to pull in the theme. We gave everyone scratchards with ‘we tied the knot so we hope you hit the jackpot’ on them. We wanted something people could do together on the table and get involved with, not something you take home and stick in a drawer and forget about. We always knew that we wanted to get married at Reach Court Farm. I love the atmosphere and the outside space, it has a very ‘Kentish’ feel both inside and out. I love the outdoor ceremony area, and all the seating outside, perfect for a spring/summer wedding. James and Oliver were incredible people to plan a wedding with. On the day, James was so cool, calm and collected. He made the day feel so easy and that everything was always under control; it flowed naturally and that’s down to him! 34
