Your Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Wedding - June/July 2022 (Issue 33)

I walked down the aisle to a live acoustic version of Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now which was a nod to the pandemic! We hired an acoustic roaming trio who was the highlight of our day! They included a live saxophonist who played pre-ceremony as our guests arrived, then a guitarist, singer and saxophonist performed as I walked down the aisle, during the signing of the register and as we walked out of the ceremony as a married couple for the first time. Norton Grounds wasn’t available to view the weekend that we went on our visit to the Cotswolds locations, but we popped by to have a sneak peek and even from the outside on a stormy day, we both felt that it was the one. We made a list of our wedding criteria and only l ooked at venues that ticked all of the boxes. We wanted a barn where both the ceremony and reception could take place on-site and which had overnight accommodation. Norton Grounds only has a limited number of we ddings that take place there every year and couples get the plac e for the entire weekend. It felt like home and throughout the plan ning process (which the pandemic didn’t make easy) we were made to feel like we were their only wedding party. One of the grea t appeals of the venue is that it’s a blank canvas. 30
