Your Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Wedding- December 2021/January 2022 (Issue 30)

Our guests blew bubbles as we exited the church as well as threw confetti! We used two different florists for our wedding flowers. The one from the village where the church is located often provides the arrangements for weddings held there and created us some wonderful displays for the entrance, pulpit, altar, windows, pillars and pews using soft-pink blooms mixed with traditional white flowers and plenty of foliage. After the ceremony, we left them for a celebration of life service that was being held on the same day for a friend of my grandparents, and the arrangements from the pews were placed on my grandparent’s grave. My bridal car was a family vintage Sunbeam tha t my mum’s cousin drove my dad and me in. Our bridesmaids followe d in a beautiful old white taxi while my mum travelled in a Rolls-Ro yce. When we visited various wedding venues near Col erne, Bowood stood out immediately. The Golden Gates as you enter provi de the wow factor plus it had The Kerry Suite that was large enough for everyon e to be gathered together in with a dancefloor and private bar just for our guests. We didn’t want lots of different rooms because we wanted to keep everyone together . I always knew that I wanted to get married at Th e Parish Church of St John the Baptist Colerne because my mum’s parents lived i n the village when I was a child and I have so many happy memories of visiting th ere. Both of my grandparents are buried in the graveyard and the church is just beau tiful. 30
