We decided on table numbers because we couldn’t decide on a specific theme and our place names were made by myself in plain white with an antique rose on the front and three small crystals for some added bling. I made our centrepieces using 16 square-shaped glass vases filled with faux antique white roses, eucalyptus and white trailing flowers. These were placed on mirrored plates and surrounded by clear scatter crystals and decorated jam jars with string lights inside. I placed duplicates of the menus at each place setting so that everyone remembered what they had ordered! I also made the place settings that I decorated with crystals. We had four tall artificial foliage and flower displays in urns placed at the entrance and exits of the venue. We also had a faux heart-shaped blossom tree at each end of the patio doors. We chose soft white drapes for the backs of the ch airs and on every other chair, we had a foliage spray, havin g seen this idea in a wedding magazine. We wanted a romantic theme to suit our rustic venue with some modern touches so we decided on a white, sage-green, silver and oak colour theme. Sadly, Clive’s dad passed away several years ago, so I never got to meet him, but he was a structural engineer who set up his own local business and in his spare time worked as a woodturner. His favourite was oak and we wanted to reflect that in our day so that it represented him. We loved our chosen reception venue, Humber Barn, including the grounds with stunning views. I was excited to see Clive’s reaction when I arrived at the church and being able to marry at our local church was the icing on the cake. 32
