Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - February/March 2024 (Issue 99)

We decorated the venue ourselves in our sage green palette using balloons, candles and lanterns. We hired huge LOVE letters to sit centre stage. When lit up they made the venue look magical. We had table numbers and a table plan designed for us using the sage green in our colour palette. The place names were designed to match – sage green with leaves. Our flowers were made for us by my auntie who is a professional floral designer and does the flowers for Wells Cathedral. We used a mix of roses and gypsophila on the tables, in the bouquets and the buttonholes. We had chicken with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes for our wedding breakfast. The other option was a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, plus a vegetarian alternative. We finished with a chocolate terrine and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, plus a Somerset board made up of various meats and cheeses for the evening buffet. We had a live band who played during the evening – they were great! One of the best parts of the evening was when they invited one of the groomsmen on stage to sing Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus, which went down a storm. 33 REAL WEDDINGS
