Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - October/November 2023 (Issue 103)

LOOKING THE PART Elise wore the Charleston wedding dress by Justin Alexander. “I always knew that I wanted a plain dress that was timeless and elegant,” Elise tells us. “I loved the neckline of this gown and I paired it with simple pearl hair pins, a small pearl pendant necklace and a pair of drop pearl earrings. My something borrowed was my mum’s delicate pearl bracelet. For the evening, I changed from my bridal shoes into a pair of white trainers that also had pearls on!” Jonny chose a check suit with gold thread detail and a pair of personalised cufflinks with his late mum’s handwriting on them. “We hired the suits for the male bridal party including our page boys,” Elise says. “Our adult bridesmaids looked stunning in their blush-coloured dresses with back button detail that matched my dress and our junior bridesmaids, who were our nieces had similar blush gowns which they loved!” TIME TO CELEBRATE The couple’s close friend Daniela, sang You’ve Got the Love by Florence and the Machine whilst they signed the register which was a memorable moment. “During our drinks reception, we had a saxophonist playing and we hired a DJ for our evening reception,” Elise tells us. “Jonny ended the night by taking the microphone and serenading me with Angels by Robbie Williams! Everyone gathered around in a circle on the dancefloor and sang it together. 34
