A PERSONAL CEREMONY, LED BY SOMEONE YOU LOVE Award-winning Essex wedding celebrant Amanda Wheal has launched a Signature Ceremony Writing service for couples who would love a friend or family member to lead their ceremony, with a professionally written script. Amanda gets to know each couple before creating their bespoke ceremony. The script includes pauses, prompts, movements and guidance for a natural, confident delivery. As Amanda was already booked on their wedding date, Deborah and Kevin chose the service so that a close friend could lead their ceremony. After completing Amanda’s couple’s questionnaire, they refined it with her until it felt completely personal. A few weeks before the wedding ceremony, they met Amanda at the venue with their friend to walk through the ceremony and finalise the practical details. TO FOREVER From Ibiza dancefloor After falling in love across two countries, Sebastiano and Reece celebrated with a stylish June wedding at Leez Priory, where sunshine and a surprise drag performance made for an unforgettable day Images courtesy of Sarah Carter Photography Sebastiano and Reece first crossed paths in Ibiza, where Sebastiano was on holiday and Reece was working for the summer. Although they only spotted each other before Sebastiano flew home, they connected on social media and soon began a long-distance romance between Rome and London. After months of travelling back and forth, they realised they had found something special. Sebastiano made the bold decision to leave his life in Rome and move to London, a choice they both agree was the best one they ever made. On 6th August 2024, Sebastiano surprised Reece with a proposal in Ibiza, the island where their story first began. Returning to the place they met made the moment even more meaningful. Now, it was time to plan the wedding. Leez Priory was the first and last venue they viewed. Sebastiano remembers, “We felt like it was gonna be our ‘little private village’ for one day.” They booked the date and on 2nd June 2026, they became Mr and Mr Stocco Le Beau. SETTING THE SCENE Sebastiano explains, “We can split the day into two parts: a very stressful morning and an amazing afternoon. We stayed at the venue the night before our wedding and were so happy, we couldn’t believe our big day had finally arrived. At the same time, we were really stressed because the weather wasn’t looking good. We woke up to rain, and the forecast wasn’t promising for the rest of the day. We worked with our wedding manager, Rachel, to rearrange everything for an indoor ceremony. Of course, we were still so happy, but we were also a little sad that we might not have the outdoor wedding we’d dreamed of. Then, just one hour before the ceremony, everything changed. The rain stopped, the sun came out, and a race against time began to move everything back outside. Everyone pitched in, the venue staff, our photographers, and our wedding designer. We can’t thank them enough for all their hard work. They truly made it possible. We had our ceremony in the sunshine, and it turned into the best afternoon of our lives.” DRESSED TO IMPRESS Sebastiano wore a black Alexander McQueen suit with a reverse lapel, paired with a white shirt featuring silk detailing. He completed the look with black wholecut Oxford shoes from Meermin. Reece wore a bespoke suit by Belladonis, styled with white Monolith leather flats from Prada. Their groomsmen all wore black suits with white shirts and pistachio bow ties. Sebastiano’s best men opted for classic two-piece black suits, while Reece’s groomsmen chose black double-breasted suits. The venue looked incredible, decorated with white blossom trees to keep the elegant fresh, clean colour palette. A noteable touch was that the couple chose to make a donation to a charity they really care about, Heal Foundation, instead of giving favours: a charity that helps the research for neurological children’s cancer. TIME TO CELEBRATE Sebastiano reveals, “We had drag queen, Tiana Biscuit, perform a 40-minute live singing set, and it was one of the highlights of the day. We were gathered in front of the main tower to cut the cake, and then she appeared through the main door and started to sing. Everyone turned around, saw her, and we all rushed back to the front of the house to sing along, dance, and have an amazing time. It was such a fun and unforgettable moment.” ADVICE FROM THE HAPPY COUPLE “Don’t follow the crowd; make your wedding your wedding. It’s one of the most special days of your life, so make it a reflection of who you are, rather than what everyone else does. Express yourselves, be creative, and make it uniquely yours. Pastels, Pearls & Old Hollywood Kirsty and Jack’s love story led them to The Lion House, for an effortlessly stylish celebration Images courtesy of Dale Zimmermann Photography J ack and Kirsty went to school together, but with Jack being two years above her, they really never crossed paths. They’d been Facebook friends for years before, then during Covid, he began liking her photos and finally messaged Kirsty just before Christmas. Their first date was a drive into London for Brick Lane bagels, a first for Kirsty, and it all went from there. Kirsty reveals, “Jack proposed in April 2023 in the Philippines, after a friend’s wedding. Everyone knew except me! The next evening, as we watched the sunset from our balcony, he got down on one knee. It was the easiest ‘yes’ I’ve ever said!” They became Mr & Mrs Parrish on 12th June 2026 at The Lion House, Boreham. SETTING THE SCENE The Lion House was an easy choice for the couple. “The moment we walked in, we fell in love with the look and feel of the venue. As we sat down and talked through all the options, I could feel myself becoming more and more certain that this was where I wanted to get married. One of the things we loved most was that it didn’t need any extra decorating, it already had so much character and charm.” Kirsty adds, “As soon as we walked out, we looked at each other and said, ‘That’s where we’re getting married.’ It was the first and only venue we viewed, and we just knew it was the one.” Wanting to complement the Art Deco style of the venue, Kirsty designed the invitations and overall theme to reflect that. Kirsty recalls, “I chose to incorporate elements of Art Nouveau, blending in floral details that perfectly suited our pastel colour palette of green, yellow, pink, blue, and purple. The combination felt elegant, timeless, and brought everything together beautifully. Jack and I also embraced an Old Hollywood feel. My dress perfectly complemented the glamorous aesthetic, and Jack had always wanted to wear a classic black three-piece suit.” DRESSED TO IMPRESS “I wore an Evie Young dress called Kat, which was exactly the style I’d been looking for. To complete the look, I paired it with a scarf that my mum found on Etsy. Everyone assumed it came with the dress because it complemented it so perfectly. “For the bridesmaids, I wanted them to feel comfortable and confident, so rather than choosing one traditional dress for everyone, I gave them the freedom to pick their own styles. I loved the idea of each dress reflecting their individual personalities while still tying into the overall wedding theme, so they each chose a different colour from our pastel palette. Although each dress was different, the colours worked beautifully together and created the soft, elegant look I had envisioned for the day.” TIME TO CELEBRATE Food was a highlight of the day, as the pair reveal, “For our reception drinks, we served four different canapés: arancini (our absolute favourite!), mini burgers, duck spring rolls, and king prawns for the seafood lovers. These were accompanied by prosecco, beers, and cider, giving everyone plenty of choice while they mingled. For the wedding breakfast, we chose traditional roast beef, which was delicious. To finish, we treated everyone to a classic jam steamed pudding served with custard, a comforting dessert that went down really well. We also decided to serve evening food to keep everyone fuelled for the dancefloor: bacon butties and pizzettes, which were a huge hit.” The happy couple hired magician, Nick Crown, to entertain guests during the reception drinks, and he was a hit! Kirsty adds, “Originally, we weren’t planning to have any entertainment, but we met Nick at the open day at The Lion House and he impressed my dad so much that he offered to pay for him to be part of our wedding day. My dad is not easily impressed, so for Nick to win him over so quickly was a pretty big achievement!” MEMORABLE MOMENTS Kirsty remembers, “One memory that stands out for me was the small request I made to AJ our DJ, before the big day. I asked if he could include a little bit of country music during the evening, knowing it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. He absolutely delivered, waiting for the perfect moment and for all the country music fans among our guests to have arrived before I gave him the signal. It turned into one of the most fun and wholesome moments of the day. Being surrounded by my family and friends, all enjoying something I love, was incredibly special and a memory I’ll always cherish.” REAL WEDDINGS 37
