An Essex Wedding - January/February 2024 (Issue 114)

We wanted our centrepieces to stand out and look grand and classic. We decided on tall gold plinths, with large cascading floral displays on top. The ceremony room had beautiful tapestries on the walls which made it feel so romantic, and the main dining hall was perfect for the size of our wedding party. I wanted the cake to look like an extension of my dress. The dress had cascading, delicate white flowers. The top tier was classic fruit cake, middle tier was lemon cake with lemon curd and buttercream filling and the bottom tier was a Victoria sandwich. The flowers were absolutely perfect and had so many compliments. We gave them all away to our family and friends the next day and they were over the moon. All my bridesmaids have different body types so I wanted a dress which suited them all, and I thought it looked perfect on all of them. The ceremony was so perfect. It felt like me and Ed were the only two people in the room. We looked into each other’s eyes, held hands and shared in the most amazing moment of our lives. REAL WEDDINGS 45
