Samantha and Claire wed on 1st August, 2018, on a day steeped in romance with a hint of rustic charm.

Samantha and Claire met in 2014 at Canterbury College, where they both studied an Access to Healthcare and Nursing course. Sam remembers, “We started off as friends but grew closer and quickly realised our relationship was much more than that.”

Making the most of the beautiful coastal vistas of St Ives, Cornwall, the couple headed to the beach after an evening meal with a blanket and a bottle of bubbly. Without a soul in sight, the pair enjoyed the sunset as they poured a glass and revelled in the peace. Claire proposed under a canopy of stars.

Two hearts: Image 1 We fell in love with Winters Barns immediately. It had a beautifully romantic feel about it. The inside is just as gorgeous as the outside, and there was somewhere for us both to get ready separately on the big day.

White birdcages housing ivory and dusky pink floral arrangements sat atop wooden logs surrounded by tealights to create the centrepieces.

Our favours were handmade cookies iced with kissing lovebirds.

Two hearts: Image 3 I made the table plan from a wooden panel framed with an ivory rose garland. Photo frames decorated with lace and pink bows listed guests' names.

Our 12-year-old son, Tobey, wrote his own poem, which he read during the ceremony, bringing everyone to tears.

I wore Robyn by Ronald Joyce and Claire looked beautiful in Ophelia by Maggie Sottero. Our dresses were very similar, but neither of us knew what the other had chosen! Many thought we'd chosen the same dress.

Two hearts: Image 5 We'd hand-made a lot of our decorative touches to make the styling more personal. We created our own sweet table, tea light holders and a timeline using polaroids of our memories and milestones. We also sanded and painted a rustic wooden ladder and decorated it with garlands, candles and the letters L.O.V.E.

Our place names were written in dusky pink and decorated with birdcages. The table names featured countries and places we've visited together.

Seeing each other for the first time on the day was an incredible moment for us both as was walking back up the aisle, knowing we were married. Another standout moment for me would have to be Claire's speech. It was hugely emotional, as she teared up talking about her love for me.

Two hearts: Image 7 We hired a chocolate fountain and photo booth for the evening. Guests enjoyed watching us play Mrs and Mrs on the dancefloor with a hairdryer and a power tool! Our bridesmaids chose the questions.

Sally from Winters Barns took care of us on the day and was beyond amazing. I'm sure without her, we wouldn't have been so relaxed. The whole day went perfectly.

Our photographer, Sarah, also went above and beyond from meetings before the day to grasp exactly what we wanted to taking more pictures than we ever imagined. She ensured every aspect of our day was captured and our beautiful photographs will be treasured for a lifetime.

The floral arrangements included ivory and dusky pink roses. We also dotted around glass jars wrapped in lace that we'd filled with gypsophila.

The four-tier cake was iced in theme-fitting ivory and dusky pink, with ruffles at the bottom, a cluster of flowers in the centre and a Mrs and Mrs on the top.

Two hearts: Image 10 We spent 11 nights in Mexico for our absolutely perfect honeymoon, on which so many special memories were made.
