Ruth Davenport, 27, married Daniel Lewis, 30, at Kelham House Hotel on 31st December, 2016.
I chose ranunculus, Norma Jean roses, freesias, honeymoon tulips and snowdrops for my bouquet.
I did my own make-up but hired a professional stylist for my hair. I decided on longer-lasting products and lots of setting spray, and of course, the fail-safe waterproof mascara.
I chose to wear a cathedral-length veil for the day which complemented my hairstyle per fectly.
I tried on 18 dresses before finding mine. It was like nothing I'd seen before, the top half was heavily embellished and absolutely stunning.
We opted for a simple cake and decided on a layer decorated with gold leaf, tiny navy ribbons and intricate sugar craft flowers that were the same as the ones in my bouquet.
We wanted the room to have an intimate yet glamorous feel so we opted for low-level arrangements for the table centres. It felt special and twinkly – like New Year's Eve is supposed to!
Sparklers always look great and for the evening reception they were ideal.
It took us ages to find the perfect photographer. You need to love their portfolio and you also need to have a connection with them. Kathryn made us feel so relaxed and I loved her informal style.
We chose a DJ as we wanted to create a real party atmosphere and get everyone in the mood to celebrate the New Year.
I explained to my florist that I loved a 'clean, full' look. We weren' t sure whether we'd be able to get the flowers we wanted due to it being just after Christmas so I let Rebecca be as creative as she wanted to ensure it looked perfect – which it did.
